For securely running your daycare center you would also require an access control system along with an add-on to the childcare management software to manage access control. The hardware devices will have to be installed at various entry / exit points in your daycare center. This way you will have total control of the number of staff and children inside the daycare center at any point of time.

For access control system hardware there are two options – one is the card system where a student will have to swipe the card or keep it close to the reader. The other system is a biometric fingerprint reading system. Of course the card swipe one may also additionally require an access code to be punched on the hardware device for opening access.

The fingerprint scanning system is much more advanced and secure as it will read the skin layer below the actual skin to prevent malfunction due to common skin conditions like dry skin, dirty fingers, worn out, greasy fingers and other such conditions. The biometric system is much more expensive because of more advanced technology usage.

If you have a tight budget then it is best to go with the conventional card based system. If you have funds for a slightly expensive system then nothing to beat the biometric system. Of course the biometric system will last much logger because of no wear and tear plus new technology advantage.

Both types of access control systems come with software for management. These devices along with the software will be easily integrated with childcare management software to give you additional module for managing access control and user database management.

The access control system also works as an attendance and time management system for both the staff and the children.

The hardware devices can be networked using a separate network wiring or the existing Ethernet network can also be leveraged for interconnecting the devices and managing them. The hardware unit at each door has a latch system along with it so that you don’t have to purchase separate latch and lock.

These devices also come with an USB port so that each unit can be programmed individually using a laptop computer. Once all your access control systems are connected and wired then you just have to use the add-on module on the childcare management software to control and maintain on daily basis.
